EDSO 3200: Social Studies Methods, Place-based Assignment
For my EDSO 3200: Social Studies Methods course in the education program, I completed an assignment in which I planned a place-based Social Studies field trip. For this felid trip, I proposed a trip to Splitrock Environmental in Lillooet, BC which had connections to the BC curriculum and the First Peoples’ Principles of Learning. Planning a field trip will be useful for my teaching practice because I will be more successful at planning an engaging, educational field trip in the future.

EDSO 3200: Social Studies Methods, Social Justice Assignment
For my EDSO 3200: Social Studies Methods course in the education program, I was tasked with developing a social justice education initiative. To do this, I proposed the creation of a school eco-club that would promote youth leadership, environmental learning, and climate action. Creating a proposal for an eco-club, and carrying out this plan in the future will be useful for my teaching practice because I will become more involved in my school community, and I will be able to inspire students to take action against climate change.
