The following presentation was created and presented by me and two other teacher candidates for the EDEF 3200 – Theoretical Frameworks of Education course that we took during the Fall 2022 semester at TRU. For this presentation, my group members and I were required to respond to a course reading on inclusive education, present information that enhanced the audience’s understanding of the content, and facilitate an activity which enhanced our audience’s learning of the content.
While creating and giving this presentation, I developed a greater awareness and understanding of the diversity that exists within our society and learned ways to support social justice for all people and groups. This is relevant to my teaching practice as I now have a better understanding of how to support my students’ development of their own identities, of how to address diversity and social justice within the classroom, and of how to create a learning environment where students of different social classes, religions, races, and more can respectfully coexist.
